This year I want to focus more on highlighting my subscribers.
Each of you are on my list for a reason so what better way to connect than to share your stories.
He’s currently shopping for a new home so the biggest goal for him at the moment is getting rid of past debt including items in collections.
“Once you get caught up in collections it’s a chore getting out,” Lee said.
How he’s sacrificing in order to reach his goals:
Lee recently sold his previous home and is using some of that money to pay off old debts.
He’s made the decision to move back home with his mom, but it isn’t just Lee moving. It’s Lee, his children and his wife. His mom was gracious enough to allow his family to live with her rent-free.
Allowing him to be able to save money faster so that he can purchase his new home.
I love how Lee is determined to reach his goals even if that means taking a step back and moving back home.
You’ve got to be willing to do whatever it takes. Many people are so excited to be on their own and life a life with lots of luxuries, but lots of luxuries come with lots of expenses finding ways to cut back will benefit you in the long run.
What he wants to teach his children: Lee wants to teach his four boys about money early. He doesn’t want his sons to waste money. He also wants to be able to give each of them a piece of property when they turn 18.
Money wasn’t really a topic that was discussed at home when Lee was growing up so he wants to set some new family traditions and change their mindset when it comes to money. “Let’s not focus so much on acquiring items and being the biggest consumers on the planet.”
I agree with Lee on this one, the focus really needs to shift from acquiring more items to acquiring more wealth.
What he loves most about Young Yet Wise: “I saw your book and it was awesome. I like to see black people tackling the issue of debt to see a brother or sister putting out a book like that it’s refreshing and I appreciate the fact that you’re willing to share your knowledge because many people don’t want to share.”
Any other money obstacles that you’re facing: “I realize that I make a decent amount of money, but it doesn’t seem like it. I’ve never really been a budget-er so I want to find a way to get more structure when it comes to my finances.”
Lee thank you so much for sharing your story!
If you don’t have a foundation or a system set in place for your money it’s easy to feel as though you don’t have enough.
If after you sat down and analyzed your numbers there really isn’t any money left check out this post on how to find ways to make more money.
To be honest I could also use some structure when it comes to my own money.
And if I need structure I’m guessing you need help in that department as well.
Next Tuesday at 8:00 pm EST. I will be doing an online workshop.
Getting structure with your finances in 2017.
You can sign up here. It will be fun, it’s a workshop but also more of a open dialogue so please come willing to chat.
I promise to have all the technical difficulties worked out this time lol
Looking forward to seeing you there!
