Art of sacrifice
Jim-Rohn quote

“Eli Whitney was laughed at when he showed his cotton gin. Edison had to install his electric light free of charge in an office building before anyone would even look at it. The first sewing machine was smashed to pieces. People scoffed at the idea of railroads. They thought that even traveling thirty miles an hour would stop the circulation of the blood! McCormick strived for fourteen years to get people to use his reaper. Westinghouse was considered a fool for stating that he could stop a train with wind. Morse had to plead before ten Congresses before they would even look at his telegraph.” – Anonymous

Today I decided to highlight a few of my friends whose visions inspire me.  Each of you inspire me because of your persistence and strong will to keep going.  You never gave up on what you wanted to do, even though I’m sure you’ve faced obstacles along the way; you found a way around them. I know you all have 100 things going on at once, and you still are able to find that balance to get things accomplished which speaks volumes about your character.

“A young man once asked a great and famous older man, How can I make a name for myself in the world and become successful? The great and famous man replied: You have only to decide upon what it is you want and then stay with it, never deviating from your course no matter how long it takes, or how rough the road, until you have accomplished it.” You are all on the right track and I just wanted to encourage you to keep going and keep creating greatness!

foodbeforelove

Food Before Love–  Cass, I still remember sitting across from you freshman year at Gracies as you taught me what the word “odee” meant.  Of course it was over a meal but who would have thought years later you would get the chance to create a life out of eating great food, traveling and encouraging others.  You are so determined and have come so far with Foodbeforelove and I’m so happy for you.  You’ve inspired me to start this blog, and for that I would like to say thank you.  If you ever want to know about the best places to eat, and attend a food tour or brunch, check out the Young, Fabulous, College Educated Socialite who loves a good mimosa’s website http://foodbeforelove.com

Lorrell Webb

Custom Jackets

LORRELL– From sitting after school with you designing websites for other local companies, to designing custom clothes for your own company LORRELL, your drive is disgusting lol in a good way.  You do whatever it takes;  from traveling to New York to get fabrics, to coming back to Boston the same day, staying up all night cutting and sewing.  It takes a lot of courage to quit your job and start your own company.  Your blind faith and passion has been driving you to the avenue of success.  You have a different breed of passion that definitely inspires everyone.  If anyone needs custom jackets, hats, shirts etc., you should check out his website.  http://lorrell.co

Kev– A friend is someone who does things that count, but doesn’t stop to count them. When I think of Kevin this is what instantly comes to mind:  It could be 3 AM and my website is broken, you will not hesitate to help me fix it.  You’ve always been there with an answer not only on how to fix my websites, but you always give me your honest opinion and aren’t afraid to critique my work.  Whenever I need something I can always count on you to be there to help me.  Thank you for always helping me and pushing me beyond my limits.

Find your passion

Find your passion

Jelani– I am astonished by your focus and determination to win. You’re always trying to perfect and improve your craft and raise the bar.  You’ve come a very long way and I’m glad that you were able to remain focused and build a better life for you and your family.  “Basically, you’ve caught me in the middle of me chasing that dream as a young producer, director, and motivational speaker.”  Your new project ambition of the city is going to be great, and I’m excited to see it.  Ambition of the City is a series of videos where Jelani interviews different young people in Boston that are doing something ambitious.  Then, he will take these videos and play them to high school students to inspire them. To find out more information, feel free to visit Jelani’s website:http://jelanilynch.com.

Anthony– Last but certainly not least, man where do I even begin? Anyone who doesn’t have a good friend like you in their life is really missing out. You once described me as awfully ambitious, but in reality I feel the same way about you.  Any time I’m feeling down your positive attitude lifts me right up, always encouraging me not to live below my purpose.  You’re always there when I need to pick your brain on blog topics and never afraid to tell me when I’m wrong.  You’ve motivated me to keep going.  I swear I need to keep a word document of all the positive things you’ve told me over the years.  “You can’t have faith without any risk, show the world how high you can fly. Forget doubt!  Get everything and be the best you can be,” are just a few to mention. You’re always on the move and your wheel for ideas are always spinning.  I know that you’re  destined for success and won’t stop until you get there.  I feel successful just by having you as a friend. Thank you for all of your encouraging words and for supporting me.  I truly appreciate you.

I feel blessed to have you all as friends. Thank you, for each of you inspire me more than you’ll ever know.  There are many more of my friends who also inspire me so please don’t get upset if I didn’t include you. Each of you are awesome in your own way.  Keep being wise, staying humble and building!
