It’s been a few years since you graduated college, you’re familiar with your student loan payments, your monthly car payments, and even your rent. Yet sometimes it still feels like you’re struggling to make ends meet. Don’t worry I’ve gathered up my favorite Young Yet Wise posts that will help you get your finances together.
#1. The perfect advice for anyone who’s struggling to make ends meet
This post was fun because a reader sent this question: “Candice, honestly right now I’m struggling to make ends meet. Every week I feel angry when I notice my job take half my pay for benefits, taxes, 401k and etc. The remainder of my money has to be spread out with loans and bills. Please give me some advice I want to be able to save for a house soon, but right now it’s not looking good if all my money is going to bills. Drop some knowledge on me girl!”
What your only options are after you’ve cut down all you can cut from your budget
After budgeting and praying, the only thing I can say is to
- Find a way to get a promotion.
- Find another job, know your worth and get a job with a higher salary,
- Get a part time job.
- Create your own side hustle.
- Hope you win the lottery.
I dive deeper into each option, you can read the full post on The perfect advice for anyone who’s struggling to make ends meet here.
#2. Struggling to make ends meet: pay off debt method
I know you’re heard every method there is to paying off debt. Stop eating out, get rid of your lattes, bring your lunch to work and use the snowball method. Nothing is new under the sun I get it, but I like to think that there is a new method to help you pay off debt. I created a debt challenge where I helped 10 people eliminate 39,000 worth of debt in just 11 weeks. Who knew paying off debt could be so fun. In my Struggling to make ends meet: pay off debt method post I interview Jessica who was apart of one of my debt challenges.
“Join a group to help you pay off debt faster
Being in the group environment of the debt challenge has been very helpful. It has introduced the element of positive competition. Seeing everyone working towards the same goal, and seeing other people making progress made her realize that she can do it too, it inspired and encouraged her to do just as good as everyone. Besides, it’s always fun to do things with people who are trying to achieve the same goals. The more, the merrier!” You can read the full post here.
#3. Ways to make money online | 1k side hustle challenge
You make ends meet by finding ways to make more money. Your salary isn’t the only way you should be bringing in income. This is so important because some people believe that they are limited to how much money they can make each month, however you are not limited my dear. Don’t let that limited belief creep inside your thoughts. You are powerful and capable of making more money outside of your 9-5.
For the month of October, my personal finance friends Jason and Crystal created a 1k side hustle Challenge. The goal was to make $1,000 in the month of October on the side of your 9-5, 10-7, or maybe even 9 until whenever they decide to let you out lol. In my ways to make money online | 1k side hustle challenge post, I’m going to walk you through how I was able to make money online read the full post breakdown here.
