How to manage your money during the holidays

The holidays are here and I know it can be super tough to save money during this time of year. It can be stressful trying to reach your money goals and come up with inexpensive Christmas gift ideas.

This topic was inspired by one of the ladies in my debt support group. Each week we meet on a google hangout on Sunday evenings to go over our money goals. One of the struggles of a previous session was how to you stay happy while paying off your debt since it can be easy to get down if you feel like you’re not making much progress when you have such a huge amount of debt to pay back.

Believe me I completely understand and although I have $10,298 worth of student loan debt I started off with $38,000 and when my debt was higher It didn’t really seem like it was moving at at, but every bit counts.

“Small steps every day lead to massive results down the road.”

In my latest video I chat more about how to stay motivated during this time of the year and also how much you should actually be spending on your Christmas gifts. Digit has been helpful at helping me save money without even thinking about it.

I believe that no one should be going into more debt for Christmas.

What are some goals you’re trying to achieve before January 1st?
One of my goals is to knock out $298 worth of debt so I can start the new year with $9,999 worth of debt and be debt free in 2017.

The Debt Slaying Challenge: Eliminating Debt Fast
