Have you been blindsided by the company you’ve invested so much into? Your first instinct may be to lash out. Anger so easily manifests itself in a situation like this. There is never a right time to be let go from your job. The fact that you didn’t see this one coming can make you focus on your lack of savings. Just because you recently got laid off does not mean that your bills and expenses will be automatically be released from you as well.
Though your current situation is piling on the negative thoughts, it is important to remind yourself that this is all temporary. Everything happens for a reason. You may feel that this is not time for any cheesy clichés, but quite on the contraire. There is no need to beat your self up or look down on yourself for being laid off. The wound may be fresh, but it is up to you to look for your silver lining. Use the law of attraction. All of that negative energy will hinder any future projects or goals from being fruitful.
Redirect all unfavorable energy for your employer towards your personal betterment. Personal development is significant during this process. Look at this new time as nature’s blessing. Now what do you do with all this new free time? That’s easy, all the things that you’ve been meaning to but couldn’t get around to because of your job. Even though at surface value it will seem as if you have all the time in the world, the fact of the matter remains that you must be smart with your time. Time will not move as slow as it once did when you were at your desk praying for five o’clock to arrive, so time management is imperative.
Start by making a weekly checklist. Make sure your checklist is realistic and practical. Remember these tasks should be able to be completed within a week. No need to get overly optimistic. Look at it as small steps towards your long-term goals.
Remember that really dope idea you had for a business, product or even app? That side hustle hiding away in the confines of your brain can actually make its long awaited debut. Weren’t you the one complaining to all your friends how busy you were with work, that you didn’t have enough ‘me” time.
Start your day by reading positive affirmations. The only way to lead a positive life is my breeding positive thoughts. Another great way to utilize all your free time would be by working out. No more excuses on being too tired to work out before or after work. Making conscious efforts to lead a healthier life will help you thrive in your financial life. It’s all about creating balance. Time is of the essence and with you living a healthier lifestyle; you’d be able to get the most out of your time. All the energy you have now from exercising will allow you to apply to new jobs with a much clearer goal in mind. That clearer mind has also granted you the knowledge and experience to take on your new career path.
Soon you’ll be able to see that being laid off was more of a lesson and less of a loss. The time has come for you to level up!
