Before I had dreams of being debt free, I had dreams of owning property. It all started when I read the book: A Millionaire By 30 by Allan Cory. In the book Allan graduated college without any student loan debt because his parents helped him pay for college. He was working at a job he hated making $38,000 a year and decided he would start being super frugal save his money and purchase a property. He eventually bought more properties and was able to become a Millionaire by 30.
Somewhere along the lines even though I loved real estate I took the money that I was saving up to use for a house and put it towards my debt. Now that I’m debt free it does feel good, and thinking of being locked in to hundreds of thousands of debt is a pretty scary thought. However If I would like to purchase an investment property one day. Most millionaires have multiple streams of income and real estate is usually in their portfolio. Real estate can be a great tool to build wealth.
