We all have dreams of being debt free, but what is it actually like when you reach the goal? I know you’re probably wondering what life is like for me now that I’m debt free so I thought I would do a video to explain what life is like now and what my next goals are in my journey.
Let me start off by saying that I celebrated New Years at the club which is something I normally don’t do I usually just stay at home with my mom ordering Chinese food and drinking sparkling cider.
This year one of my close friends reached out and asked if I could spend New Years with her at the club, so I decided to go. (because I love her otherwise I would’ve been home warm, and saving my coins) Anyway when I got to the club you may think I was in there celebrating being debt free buying everyone shots, but no boo boo I was not. I was in there not drinking because I didn’t want to spend $17.00 for a plastic tiny cup of alcohol with ice.
My money mindset is still the same when it comes to my personal finances, although I don’t have a loan balance hanging over me I still have a savings account that could always use more money, and investment accounts that I would love to grow. As well as doing some more traveling and continuing to grow my business as an entrepreneur.
I admit I was a little bit emotional about being debt free which I wasn’t expecting. For so long I’ve been documenting my journey of paying off my debt that I felt like once I was debt free my audience wouldn’t even be able to relate to me anymore. Which sounds crazy but I had to tell myself that it’s okay to be debt free, it’s okay to embrace a new journey.
When I spoke to my business coach about it she told me that even though I was debt free I could still help my audience and motivate + inspire them on their debt journey. Also being debt free is just the beginning and now I have a new journey to share being an entrepreneur, remaining debt free (the only debt I plan to have is if it’s from my business or investment properties), saving money and investing money.
When it comes to investing I have a roll over IRA, Roth IRA, brokerage account, and a new Solo 401k which I just opened up last month last year I didn’t invest as much as I wanted to so this year I want to make sure that I’m consistent with investing more money. Last week I did an entire class on my debt pay off strategy as well as investing my money while paying off my debt so that I could have a positive net worth once I became debt free. You can purchase the replay of the workshop here.
